The Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race The Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race: Racing to Save the Bay

Volunteers

If you would like to participate in this year's Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race without actually sailing from Baltimore to Portsmouth, there are plenty of land-based opportunities available on both ends of the race!

In Baltimore, we need mates to assist with docking as the schooners arrive, serve as schooner liaisons, help with the education program and staff the All Hands Party.

Baltimore liaisons are matched with a particular schooner, and serve as a one-person welcoming committee and go-to person for the captain and crew while they are docked in Baltimore. New liaisons may be paired with a veteran liaison to better meet the needs of their schooners' crew.

The All Hands Party in Baltimore is a private party for captains and crews. Volunteering is your ticket to this fun event! The party planners need help setting up, serving food, selling raffle tickets and breaking down, as well as other tasks needed to successfully host a party for more than 300 people.

If you would like to volunteer in Baltimore, please contact Paul or Pat Brabazon, the Maryland Race Chairs, at 484.553.9932 (Paul) or 410.949.0396 (Pat) or maryland@schoonerrace.org.

If you would like to volunteer in Portsmouth, please contact Denise Chaffee, the Virginia Race Chair, at virginia@schoonerrace.org.
